There was a bird whose wings were crushed…

Today I hung out with Tyler from noon till about 8:30 at night, haha.

We headed to Mickey D’s for lunch, then drove a looong drive to Guitar Center. Man, we had some fun there. There were these two dudes, both probably in their late teens, slapping these basses when we walked in - there was a black dude who was probably 18 and he was freaking amazing. I played a pretty sweet Fender…it’s a bass with a Tele-shaped headstock, so that was pretty cool. Got some new strings and about ten dollars worth of picks, ha…eventful.

We then headed home and restrung the bass, played for awhile…kinda chilled; talked to my mom for like, half an hour. Haha. Then he was like, “I don’t wanna go home cause there’s nothing to do there…” So I was like, “Wanna go to Chili’s?”

So we did that and ran into Alli and Jessie and talked to them for a lil. Fun stuff. I’ve never hung out with anyone for that long…and tomorrow I’m headed to his house for a lil group hang out, then wednesday there’s church. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re tired of each other by the end of the week.

So, that was my day.

- So I finally saw the new Batman today. Honestly, I don’t know if I can offer up a proper review because the film literally blew me away - Heath Ledger’s acting was absolutely perfect; he fit the part of the Joker down to a T. The movie kept me on my toes and it was just fantastic…the only nitpicking I’ve got to do is that they need to quit doing that stuff to Batman’s voice, haha. It sounded like there was a dying dog in his throat.

- I downloaded about ten new albums this weekend and got rid of all the Green Day in my iTunes library because I had 950 songs…quite a sad event since they were one of my biggest influences to pick up bass and all that garbage. Oh well - all good things must come to an end. Anyway, I downloaded Emery, old FOB, Powerspace, and The Killers’ “Sam’s Town” (at last), among others. All great bands.

- By the way, my iPod now has 764 songs instead of 950. A lot of Green Day.

- My hair is getting long. Should I get it cut?

When I see that you’re feeling down, it’s in my nature to talk to you and advise you on how you can reach that level of happiness that you miss so much, that you long for and wish you could just hold in your hands again. I’m here for you. You can talk to me when you feel like you’re never going to see the sun shine again. I know every day seems rainy but trust me, the clouds will part one day.

when i grow up.

you know how every kid gets asked that famous question: “what do you want to be when you grow up?”

and the typical kid responses are heard. firefighter, policeman, teacher, whatever. mine was the usual “i dont know.”

the last couple of months (and especially after camp) ive been doing some hardcore thinking about what i really want to do. ive got it narrowed down to either journalism or oncology (possibly neurology). of course, itll probably change ten times till i settle on one of the original ideas, but this year as a sophomore im taking biology and english II, which is all writing. can you ask for a more perfect school year?

thinking about it almost makes me want to go back to school, but if i actually do end up going to medical school, then i cant wait for college. seriously - all i need right now is to be away from home.

in other words i got rid of all the liquor and vodka and all that garbage about three or four days ago and dumped it in the trashcan outside our house. i did it all in front of my mom cause she promised not to get drunk that weekend even though she did friday, saturday, and sunday nights. and she was a jerk about it on sunday night as well. ive forgiven her but its not going to happen again, and i made that known with the removal of those bottles the other day…

I haven’t really been updating here lately.

- It’s 5 PM. I was up till 5 AM last night and woke up today at 12:45 PM. The joys of sleeping in and missing half the day…

- Earlier this week I went over to my musical buddy Josh’s house and recorded the bass for a new track of his, called “A Shade on Your Shoulder”. It’s some hot stuff. Kind of a new sound for him for all you Peele listeners. He remastered it last night (don’t know if the remastered version is on the myspace). He’s got some plans: in three weeks, when he gets back from the beach, we’ll have five Peele songs to work with. I’m stoked.

- I got this neat little laser pointer the other day and I totally terrorized my cats with it last night. Basically, what I did was stand in front of the storm door and look in on the foyer, where my cats were both sitting, and they were facing the same direction as me (they weren’t looking at me). I shined the laser on the wall opposite my house’s entrance for a few minutes and got them all intrigued, then banged on the door and scared the living daylights ouf of them. One of them ran all the way to the other side of the house; the other ran up to the door and started bashing it with her clawless front paws, spitting and hissing at me. Haha. It was great.

- I got a pen pal as of last night. Once I get her letter back/get the scanner working I’ll put it up here.

- current obsession: an amazing, beautiful acoustic song called “into dust” by mazzy star. the song’s chords basically repeat over and over, as do the vocal progression, but it doesn’t really matter to me. it’s good and got me in a mood to listen to mellow stuff, which i’ve been doing the last half hour or so. the song is on my myspace is you’re that interested.

- finished the second season of house today and saw a spoiler preview for season five. i don’t know if it’s legit or not but it’s possible that it is…either way, i’m not sure so it’s not being posted on here until i see a real one on fox’s website or something. (no…i’m not obsessed)

- i think i am coming down with something. it’d odd. and i can’t describe…
